The only option I haven't seen mentioned which is used quite a lot but I
suppose is a little outdated is to use a multi-member file and pass the
member name to the batch job.  It would need clean-up processes similar to
the user space option.

I am trying to determine the best way to pass the selections to the batch
submission.  Should I use a USER SPACE, or a DATA QUEUE, or a uniquely named
file with the selections (different field sizes, types)?  

I have pondered a monstrous, structured parameter string, but I have heard
such things are resource intensive.  

How would you do it?
