Granted these responses probably don't answer your question.  But in 
general I've never used a PSSR.  Frankly they don't have the recovery 
available at the level desired, as you have discovered.  I prefer to do my 
checking at the point of impact.  Which is why I am also not a big fan of 
a generic MONMSG CPF0000 at the top of each CL program.
