What keys, if any are on the file?

Is this the result you are looking for?

That is a workable solution. The problem is that, if the file is already
open, how to open it again to populate the temporary SQL file? I want to
be
looking for these renewed contract records while I am stepping through the
same file, looking for the expired ones.

We don't have the SQL lic pgms, but I can use CWBUNDBS.EXE to create the
tables, and then use RPG to populate them. The issue is that this would
need to be done for each dataset library, and my idea was to really
streamline the process without having to create too many copies of the
data.

Thanks just the same!
