What is so bad about having to stick the CD's in? Time? The difference between loading them from CD's and ftp'ing them from your other machine (providing the client allows this) is insignificant for this one shot task. The benefit is consistency. However, I'll be the first to admit. We didn't know about QSYSINC at first and created our own DS's, wrappers, etc. This allowed us some sanity to use Qualified data structures, etc that many other shops won't use either because they have to support V1R2 or they won't use anything that wasn't available on the S/32. You can install it while people are using the system, so it doesn't require ANY downtime. However, it's a good idea to provide your own copies of the necesary files from QSYSINC or pre-compile the programs for your customer so that he doesn't have to do this. On Wed, 17 Dec 2003, Eric A.
