Well to be certain, only Barbara or Hans could answer that question, but I suppose the answer is "it depends". :) But effectively the answer should be, it does not allocate storage for the data structure when it contains the BASED keyword. In fact, if you try to use it without assigning a pointer, chances are you'll be looking at an invalid address and will get an MCH3601 or something similar. Now on to the question I asked <grin>. I'm trying to make sure that, for whatever bizarre reason, the compiler isn't allocating a data structure anyway. Common sense says it won't, but common sense can't always be trusted.
