Rob, I think that's precisely the problem. Error trapping in RPG is still one of the most horrifying experiences. MONITOR goes a long way to improving this, but I can't think of many programmers who know how to catch an escape message, determine that the delete is not allowed due to a constraint definition, and handle the error. I know I've seen shop standards that specifically forbit the use of UNIQUE in DDS because they didn't want to deal with the error handling.
