You can specify the WAIT parameter on the ALCOBJ. In the program the
default wait time will be determined by the Class the job is running under.
Change the job or specify the WAIT parm on the ALCOBJ

 | Subject: Wait time for a locked object
 |
 |
 | I have a program that is accessing a data area. I have the IN opcode
 | statement inside of a MONITOR. If the data area is locked when the
 | program tries to access it there is about a 15 second delay
 | before the
 | program resumes and the ON-Error statement can be executed. I also
 | noticed it takes the same amount of time when trying an
 | ALCOBJ on the
 | data area when it is locked. Is there some way of speeding
 | up the amount
 | of time it takes to try and allocate an object that is locked?
