This is what a message file is under the covers. The index entries are limited to 2000 bytes each, and of course, just like most objects, user indexes have an associated space. That associated space is also limited to 16MB since a User space is an exposed space object they are identical under the covers. So unless you want to break up your data into 2000 byte chunks, the user space won't help. What would help, and what is sorely need (and long over due in my view) is a teraspace user index. The IBM person said it operated similar to a User space except you could index the entries.
