        The program is reading a physical file & updating it & does not
appear to generate 
any spool file.

Suggest you get used to using a command called STRDBG - its
normally what the rest of us use to sort any problems like this.

Or alternatively, do a 
RUNQRY *N GMIRPMF1 
to see what is in that file & find out why the program isn't doing anything
(actually
it might be doing something - you will need to look at the file before &
after running
to find this out).

The only thing I would say that looks a bit odd is that the internal
definition of the file
indicates that all fields are character (no numeric ones).
