To forestall the inevitable plaintive "well why don't they just FIX it?", please try to remember that RPG II style calculations are closer to assembler than to any other language on the planet. There are no expressions, and therefore, no requirements for intermediate variables (handled by the compiler). Even BASIC can handle expressions, and as such, one needs to become familiar with the concept of intermediate precision. It's not a 'fault' in EVAL; that's the way it works in every other language. --buck
