The use of the C DB functions will allow the passing of file pointers in
RPG. I would like to see a native RPG implementation of this though.

Local files? I agree that that would be useful functionality. File 
handles? That too would be quite useful. And like all other proposed 
enhancements, their usefulness would have to be weighed against the 
cost of implementation, and compared to other proposed enhancements.
