Hi Pascal, You've encountered the record buffer..... <g> Data has been written, but has not yet been saved to DASD. One way to force the program to commit your data is by using the FEOD opcode. I think this is more fully explained in the Midrange.Com FAQ. "Bill" updates records to file "table1" and adds records to file "table2". "Bill" has started last night and won't stop until I tell him to do so. If I try to lookup for changes since "Bill" has started I can't see them with SQL. If I stop "Bill" then I can see the records added and the ones updated. Can someone tell why is it like this and how can I work this around? I thought of creating seperate programs for UPDATE and WRITE operations, but I thought maybe there was an easier way of doing it. thanks, _______________________________________________ This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
