There is your first mistake. <g>

Use Google instead.  I typed in:

  "rpg reference manual" v5r1 site:ibm.com

and the first link back was on a page inside the manual.  Within that you
can
hit the hyperlink to the table of contents or index (bottom of the page),
and
switch to where you want. 

That said, commonly used manuals I prefer to download to my machine in PDF
format so I have local access times.  And those I don't download I look up
using
links on the following site:

  http://www.iseriesnetwork.com/resources/isndocfinder/

I'm not sure if you have to be registered there or now, but this is the best
way
I've found to find IBM manuals...
