I wasn't argueing for fixed over free, i was refuting your's for free over fixed. my arguement for fixed would be 4 fold. free gives me little advantage over fixed. free has problems with parseing, even when you use a semicolon free has syntax checking problems that aren't evident with fixed. fixed is what i'm used to seeing. i'm going to need more than 'it looks cool' to make me switch. rick
