It was just a suggestion...   For me, it would be easier to write from
scratch than deal with the problems of calling Java from RPG for something
this simple.

It's just my opinion, nobody says you have to agree.  I just wanted to put
my 2 cents out there.

Does that documentation tell you how to solve these error trapping
problems?   The only docs I know of are the ones in the ILE RPG
Programmer's guide, which are very short and sad.

My advice was only on the topic of e-mail, and other relatively simple
things.  I would certainly not advocate using RPG for translating barcodes
to images.
