For a more complicated answer you'll have to give me your definition of "in-line". A call to a procedure in the same module would be faster (all other things being equal) than one to a procedure in a service program or another PGM object. But it is all subject to optimization and a whole bunch of other stuff. The one thing that matters performance wise is that the call will tend to be faster to a procedures compiled with NOMAIN.
