Subject: Dataarea lock problem

Need you help, guys.

Background:
1) Two RPG programs and a java process share access to a dataarea for
update.
2) Two RPG programs use the *lock to lock the dataare and increment it then
do a out to update and release the lock on the dataarea.
3) Java process also use a lock and increment and then do a update to
release it.
4) Current os is V5R2.

Question:
1) When do WRKOBJLCK on the dataarea, sometimes I'll see three or four
programs in HELD status and the other in wait status. The question is how
can multiple jobs lock a dataarea.
