Kevin, What did the SQL look like that you used to create the procedure?? Here is an example we use to create our procedures. CREATE PROCEDURE *libl/procname(IN XMLMSG VARCHAR ( 32000)) RESULT SETS 1 LANGUAGE RPGLE NOT DETERMINISTIC READS SQL DATA EXTERNAL NAME *libl/procname PARAMETER STYLE GENERAL Notice there are two places to specify the procedure name(procname) and the library it is in. If you need to drop the procedure and create it again. The problem is we do not have a change management system. To ease administrative overhead we attempted to just move the external program associated with the stored procedure. The sysprocs record lists the program location as *libl so we assumed we could do this without deleting and recreating the procedure. However when the stored procedure was invoked it still attempted to use the program at the dev level and it no longer exists there. So, what should be the promotion path of stored procedures and how do you handle needing the same procedure at different levels i.e., Dev and Prod? I appreciate any help... Kevin E.
