RE: what is object oriented programming

I took a Java course (it was horrible), but anyway ... I coded an assignment, 
worked just fine, but it was four times the code and it was in "top-down" 
design.  I merely coded it in Java like it was an RPG program.  Not very OO-ish!

In my day I have come across many people who believe they are doing modular
programming by including IFEQ...ENDIF.  Modular programming is not a coding
issue, it is a thinking issue.  The same is the case with OO.  It is a way
to think about coding.
