Yes, the %INT, %DEC, etc. BIFs were enhanced at V5R2. A V5R1 "fix" is to use the C-language atol function, (in the C Runtime Library - part of OS/400 base) - or - use overlaying character/zoned numerics in a Data Structure. Of course, you can continue to use the infamous MOVE/MOVEL fixed-format operations ... the subject of a different discussion <grin>. Brian Parkins
