That's what I'm afraid of too. I would like some reassurance that there is no way that if I specify DFTACTGRP(*NO) that it will not come back to bite me. I was curious also because I thought I heard a while back that compiling this way might come back to bite me. Then again it was from an anti-RPGIV stance that they were saying this. -----Original Message----- From: fkany@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:fkany@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, April 21, 2003 12:45 PM To: CN=RPG programming on the AS400/O=iSeries Subject: Re: compiling an RPGLE pgm What's the difference between DFTACTGRP(*NO) and DFTACTGRP(*YES)? I specify *NO to get it to compile and run, but I don't have any idea why I'm doing it. I guess if someone could give a simple explanation of DFTACTGRP (*NO) and DFTACTGRP(*YES) so that I could understand what I'm doing when I'm doing it, I would appreciate it. The only thing I'm doing different in my program is I'm using prototypes or subprocedures(which ever is the correct name) instead of using subroutines.
