I stand corrected, as usual. I thought the Set statements are evaluated at
run time, not compile time.

Nice thing is that, if you need to , the SQL options can be set on the fly
without recompilation. H specs can't.

Thanks,

Mark

Come to think of it. Might this be one time when the precompiler people
have one up on the compiler people? Who has left more compiler options
hanging?

A) SQL: CRTSQLRPGI vs SET OPTION
B) RPG: CRTBNDRPG vs H spec

Yes, you can forget about the compile options with this. Like I said,
SQL's answer to the H spec.

This:
     C/EXEC SQL
     C+ Set Option
     C+ Commit = *None,
     C+ closqlcsr = *endmod
     C/END-EXEC
Might be cleaner. For more information:

Rob -

So I can get away from worry about remembering compile options with this
code? Here are the three compile options I worry about ... so far.

COMMIT *NONE
CLOSQLCSR *ENDMOD
DLYPRP *YES

     C/EXEC SQL
     C+ Set Option
     C+ Commit = *None
     C/END-EXEC

      * close cursor
                 c/exec sql
c+ set option closqlcsr = *endmod
                 c/end-exec
