The Open List of Jobs (QGYOLJOB) API might meet your needs. It provides
selection based on subsystem and returns in the List information structure
the number of Total records which should correspond to the number of jobs
(so you don't need to actually process the list) when the List status
indicator is '2'. The API is in the Work Management category of system
APIs.

All,
I need a quick, down & dirty way to determine the number of jobs running in
a specific subsystem, then displaying the information on the screen. I was
looking at calling a command from the RPG program, sending the output to a
spooled file & processing it, but I did not want to have to process a
spooled file in that way. Anyone else have any ideas and/or examples?

Thanks

Mike
