Way back when, when I found that a called program couldn't access the local data area when the caller defined it with UDS, I decided to just use *DTAARA DEFINE, and "in" the *LDA at the beginning, update it when needed, and so on. My personal style has been to define the *ENTRY PLIST at the first of the C-specs (soon to move to D-specs for new programs at least), then data area definitions, then KLIST's. The new code specs will change this somewhat, but definitions are mostly at the top, which seems to be where maintainers will first look for them. - Alan
