Rob,

This is an example of one I use.  The 'a' is causing the RNF3502 error.
When checking up on this it I realized I might be missing the obvious.  Data
structures are used to return multiple records in a fetch.  The data
structure you have defined is not a MODS.  That may have been the cause of
the original error after all.  When I got to double checking some of my
code, I don't specify a length either so it should work whether a length is
specified for the DS or not.

d sqlRecord       ds            45    Occurs(100) Based(sqlRecord@)
d  Field1                        3s 0                              
d  Field2                       12s 0                              
d  Field3                       30

Rob,

Try putting a length on the DS.  I receive this error a lot when I forget
to
explicitly define a field even though it is implicitly defined in an
external file.
