Mike, you could start here: http://as400bks.rochester.ibm.com/html/as400/v5r1/ic2931/info/rzaiy/rzaiymst.pdf Are you connecting via modem? if so, I have a CLP that I use to start a connection and monitor for a connection status. I got it from one of the list members and modified it for my own use. Rick ------original message----------- I have a process that I must complete from within an RPG program. I know how I am going to complete most of the processes, with the exception of one. Well -- here is the issue. My processes are as follows: Create an IFS file based on specific data -- done. Check for a PPP connection - Not done Start the PPP connection (right now to another iSeries) - not done FTP the IFS file to another iSeries - Done Disconnect the PPP connection - Not done As you can see -- my weak point in the process is the starting/ending of the PPP connection. Does anyone have any ideas/examples of checking if the PPP connection is open, initiating a PPP connection, and ending a PPP connection from an RPG program? I have looked in the communications API book, but I have not found what I need. Thanks Mike
