Doc, Sounds like TextPad will do just about everything UltraEdit will do. One thing UltraEdit will do is FTP. That's one of the big reasons I use it. You didn't mention if TextPad does tabbed windows. UE does, and that's another great feature. Actually, one of the things I like best (compared to SEU) is being able to do a windows-style copy/paste. Like you, I write quite a few other languages (HTML/JavaScript/CSS, Net.Data, a little Java), and it's nice to have one editor to do it all. That's just me, and I don't consider myself a *real* RPG programmer. Since I write in /free, I don't miss the CODE/SEU prompt. Now if either of these had a built in CVS client (I think we're going to start using CVS around here), that would seal the deal. Mike E.
