Does the program use a display file?   Since you are not logged in using
a 5250 or telnet session, a program that reads/writes from the screen will
fail with an error.

Also, does the program need particular libraries in it's library list?
It's possible that another difference between FTP and a regular 5250
screen would be the libraries that are accessed by default...

I would expect that this would work the same as calling it from the
command-line.   Have you tried that?
