You need to define FILEA as user open and issue the override before you open it. -----Original Message----- From: Malchow, Grizzly [mailto:GMalchow@automaticproducts.com] Sent: Friday, January 24, 2003 10:40 AM To: rpg400-l@midrange.com Subject: Problem with OVRDBF from a RPG program Hi, I'm running into a little problem. Here's my code and I will explain the error I keep receiving. D CmdArray S 63A DIM(1) CTDATA D Cmd S 63A D Len S 15P 5 C MOVEA CmdArray(1) Cmd C Z-ADD 63 Len C CALL 'QCMDEXC' C PARM Cmd C PARM Len C READ FILEC C FILCFLD CHAIN FILEA C IF Not %FOUND(FILEA) C WRITE FILEA C ENDIF ** OVRDBF FILE(FILEA) TOFILE(LIBB/FILEA) SHARE(*YES) I displayed the override and there is an existing override to LIBB for FILEA. When I chain to FILEA it still seems to be looking at the file as if it is not overridden because records that I know are not in LIBB/FILEA are being being found. Those records are in *LIBL/FILEA, but not in LIBB/FILEA. I know that for sure. Any ideas? _______________________________________________ This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo.cgi/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
