Deepak, can you create a user profile and create the Library, files, and programs that your database will use under that user profile as owner? Compile your accessing program to adopt the Owner's Authority. Once done, create the security for the Library as *OWNER and then disable the new profile. (from then on of course you can't work in there without the QSECOFR's permission, but that's ok isn't it? --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@MartinVT.com --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Date: Thursday, January 23, 2003 08:44:45 To: rpg400-l@midrange.com Subject: Password security Hello, I am working on a tool development. The tool can be run by certain users defined in my database. I do not want to give access to this database to any user except the program using that database. The user should not see the password by running the query. How can I maintain this security? Deepak Deshpande
