Doggone it. I know this has been discussed before on the list, but
durned if I can find it in the archives. So, when answering, a link to
the answer, in the archives or elsewhere, would be preferred, just so
you know I really was trying to look.

I need to know what is the earliest release I can compile RPG-IV and
RPG/400 programs to. We will be upgrading to v5r2 at the end of the
month. We are currently at v4r5 and the compiler commands' help DOES
NOT say!  It's crappy generic:

  Valid values depend on the current version, release, and
  modification level, and they change with each new release.
  If you specify a target-release that is earlier than the
  earliest release supported by this command, an error
  message is sent indicating the earliest supported release.

ARRGGHHH! Who comes up with this stuff? One would think that, if the
compiler will kick out an error if TGTRLS is specified with an
unsupported release, that the stupid help text would have it as well.
</rant>

TIA, Dan
