Magic Software's ( http://www.magicsoftware.com/ ) development product beats
VARPG and ASNA hands down for record level access to both iSeries and MSSQL
data, IMHO.  Not RPG, but very easy to learn, particularly for developers
that are intimate with RPG's fixed logic cycle.

It's expensive though, $5000+ for a developer license and additional
licensing for deployment runtimes.
