Personally, we just loaded V5R1 and now have access to freeform, and I
absolutely love it! That includes ANY new techniques or syntax rules. This
will only make it easier in the long run to program code that is more
structured and readable, not to mention efficient. I would be leery of any
programmer on my staff that was not overjoyed at this new technology. The
learning curve even for a small label program was time consuming. However,
after I get some modules and procedures created, my level of efficiency will be
much higher.

Unless of course they take about 15 minutes to soak in what's going on with the
free form code. I've run into too many situation of programmers throwing their
hands in the air and not touching a program because:

if a = b

didn't look like

a ifeq b

I know free form is a bit of a leap from rpgiii, but is it all that tough if
you're already coding in rpgiv?
