Wow, good detective work, Joe! I dunno, though, I think his motivation *is* advertising and not research. I think he already knows the market, although it seems to me he doesn't know the "profile" of the subscribers of this list. Frankly, in my experience, the conversion of anything (with complexity and volume) to Oracle is a nightmare waiting to happen. BT,DT. Plus, the consensus I've gathered is that iSeries is the most stable platform around. It doesn't make much sense to move mission-critical apps off the iSeries and onto Win-anything.
