Peter is correct, and to add a little to that, in RPGIII and earlier you were "limited" to 7 AN/OR lines of indicators. But since the CVTRPGSRC command needed to convert things like C 11 12 13AMOUNT IFEQ 0 Into C 11 CAN 12 CAN 13 IF AMOUNT = 0 IBM removed the 7 AN/OR limitation. So, while we don't encourage the use of indicators in RPG IV, you can actually use more of them to condition a single operation code. <SOAPBOX status=*ON> Using indicators to condition an Ifxx operation is just sick!!! Arrgh!!! </SOAPBOX> Bob Cozzi -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:rpg400-l-admin@midrange.com] On Behalf Of Peter Vidal Sent: Monday, December 02, 2002 9:59 AM To: rpg400-l@midrange.com Subject: RE: output specs and indicators Lori asked: "I have a similar question. How do you put 3 indicators on a single calculation in the Calculation specs in RPGLE? I am converting some RPG36 code to RPGLE and was wondering how this would be done." If you have this on the old RPG: C 11 12 13AMOUNT IFEQ 0 C Z-ADD1 AMOUNT C ENDIF The equivalent will be: C 11 CAN 12 CAN 13 IF AMOUNT = 0 C EVAL AMOUNT = 1 C ENDIF Peter Vidal Pall Aeropower Corp. / SR Programmer Analyst www.pall.com / Peter_Vidal@Pall.com 727-539-8448, x2414 _______________________________________________ This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
