Thank you for the responses. I am aware of the dynamic prepare option. Static SQL statements offer a number of benefits in performance and error checking, and I was hoping, by the debug message I had seen about host variable in the order by clause, that it was something new we could do. You could build a character string and supply the value for the ORDER BY as a variable.
