My understanding has been that stuff not currently being used was paged to disk and "active" stuff was retained in memory. Assuming I'm correct, an array would never be sent to disk unless the program was placed on hold or was awaiting some user response. Donald R. An array would be stored on disk too, just like any other paging activity. <clip>
