John,
First, is the data area defined on as a UDS data area?
If so, is it used by many programs?
If so, redefine the data area so that it is not a UDS.
DTAARA() on d-spec for define in the C-spec. Keep UDS for LDA's only.

Try a tool like CVTOBJLCK that dumps the WRKOBJLCK output into an
OUT-FILE for you or you can write your own command, if you need to resolve
the issue at run time. CVTOBJLCK comes with TAATOOLS. From there, it's up
to you.

Thank you,
Matt Tyler

Subject: Who locked the data area?

Good Monday Morning!!!

When I run rpg-ile pgm A and try to lock my data area I
get %status 00431. Positions 91-170 of the pgm SDS tells
me "Lock operation for object SF8888DA not satisfied".
From within pgm A is there a way to determine what job
has the data area locked?

TIA!!!

John
