David, did you get this resolved? *CALLER for the child program is not advised if you depend on this program to be initialized on each call. If you always want this program to re-initialize storage each time it is called, recompile the child program as ACTGRP(*NEW), and ensure that you are setting on LR. There is some overhead involved in repeatedly creating and destroying activation groups, so if it runs several thousand times, you may need to change the way you're initializing.
