Yes. Indeed, the value of MyPointer may well point to storage that's been returned to the free pool, so you need to be especially careful if you do something like this. If you still care that MyPointer has a valid value, you need to assign the (possibly) new value of GenericPointer to MyPointer to ensure it still points to valid storage. Cheers! Hans
