first, it can only be an *after read second, it can only be a program trigger, you can't use declarative triggers on a read operation (not yet anyway) third, allow repeated change yes is permitted during the addpftrg command, so, the buffer is changable you can alter the record, blank out fields, flush the buffer or send an escape message and terminate the read operation. =========================================================== R.
