Hi Matt, You're making sense, in fact there's an APAR about getting an MCH1202 when the UDF returns NULL and the receiving variable has not been initialized, e.g. c eval x = TestUDF(parm1:parm2) if TestUDF returns NULL, and x is an uninitialized numeric field, you'll get a decimal data error. However, in my case, the receiving variable has been initialized. Thanks for the reply!
