Thanks for all the answers, I will make a copy now and use it until we upgrade to V5R2 Learnig that IBM included that option makes me fell that my request is not so crazy. I can add the library, but the user is the QTMHHTP1 and I don't want "him" to have it. I rather give access to the data using an RPG program that will not give access to anything else in the library. It may be a good idea to have a library for all the web needs, but there are a lot of other programs using these data and files. Raul. Bob Cozzi wrote:
You can specify the library in V5R2, but before that... :( Bob Cozzi www.rpgiv.com/seminars -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:rpg400-l-admin@midrange.com] On Behalf Of Mark A. This of course would be "messy" if you need to update the data area since you would not be able to lock it. Just curious, why can you not do a addlible to say *end within the program before accessing the data area - or is that something the user/security officer will not allow, there are ways around that too, Or if the issues cannot be overcome, then I simply go back to the people requesting the change to tell them it is not currently possible under the current set-up conditions that exist on their system, once those change, it then can be done, and leave the managers to battle it out. I can not change the library list. Is there something similar to the file's "extname" that aplyes to DATA ARA?
