I am curious as to why the library list cannot be changed.
Do you have a CL program that calls this program that needs to read the
dataarea? If so ADDLIBLE the library just prior to calling the program, then
RMVLIBLE the same library just after.
As suggested, if there is a security concern (on this library or whatever) then
maybe the data are should NOT reside in this library.

I do not know of a any way to specify the library - however;
"can" you do something along these lines,

create a dup copy of the data area into qtemp,
then retrieve it from there.

This of course would be "messy" if you need to update
the data area since you would not be able to lock it.

Just curious, why can you not do a addlible to say *end
within the program before accessing the data area -
or is that something the user/security officer will not allow,
there are ways around that too,

Or if the issues cannot be overcome, then I simply go back to
the people requesting the change to tell them it is not
currently possible under the current set-up conditions that
exist on their system, once those change, it then can be done,
and leave the managers to battle it out.

Subject: Data Ara

I need to read a DATA ARA , but the library where the DATA ARA is
located is not in the "libriry list".

I can not change the library list. Is there something similar to the
file's "extname" that aplyes to DATA ARA?

Thanks, Raul
