F SPEC to clear a file? -- RPG400-L

I must be missing something here because no one else has mentioned this, but
.... Why don't you simply open the file for output, and then close it?  Or
alternatively just open output and then if you don't write any new records
it will be empty - and if you write some ... (it won't <grin>)
