Been there, done that. Thankfully, *very* briefly.

If you can get past your own morals (whatever they may be) on MLM schemes
*AND* you have no children living at home *AND* can afford to travel several
times yearly to rah-rah festivals far & wide *AND* you're ambitious, you
might do well. Comfort zone, indeed.

My morals on MLM (aka "pyramid") schemes waffle; for the brief time I was in
it, I justified it as long as everyone was up front about it.
I have three young children. You need to "invest" a lot of time away from
home during the evenings.
I can't afford to travel like you have to to be seen as a "team player". We
did one trip, a one-day thing within a short drive. Jeez, the rah-rah fest
was just too much. I don't recall hearing it explicitly, but there was a
lot of implicit suggestions that if you didn't follow the plan, i.e., buy
all the tapes and books, attend all the meetings, etc., you're a loser.

BTW, Amway has been recast as Quixtar.

If anyone has any thoughts of getting involved in this, I'd strongly suggest
doing a google search on 'Quixtar' or 'Amway' or both. You'll see entire
domains from individuals with bitter experiences.

This is my last (& only) post on this off-topic subject, so if anyone wants
to respond, do so privately.

Rick,

I've had two people give me a sales pitch saying that I should become an
Amway distributor because "your life will improve immeasurably", but to do
so, I might have to get out of my "comfort zone".
