Is there a BIF to remove spaces b/w letters

I don't have two variables just only one and it has "FIRSNAME
LASTNAME"   I need to remove the spaces.

Try this:
eval wholeName = %trim(firstName) + ' ' + lastName

Some will tell you to use a varying variable because of the expensiveness of
%trim() which will also work.
