Things may be different today, but the overhead was in creating the User Space in a CrtUserSpace/QUsLxxx API call sequence. So I'd suggest you create the user space, leave it hanging around and then call QUSLMBR...oh wait, you said "QUSRMBRD" Retrieve Member Desc, that API doesn't use a user space, it just uses data structure, so never mind.
