      *  CHKOBJ COMMAND
     I            DS
     I I            'CHKOBJ PGM___NAME -      1  28 CMDTXT
     I              'PGM___TYPE'
     I                                        8  17 PGMNAM
     I                                       19  28 PGMTYP

...

     C                     MOVELWHFNAM    PGMNAM
     C                     MOVELWHOTYP    PGMTYP
     C                     CALL 'QCMDEXC'              95
     C                     PARM CMDTXT    CMD    80
     C                     PARM 28        CMDLEN 155

You could also use an array to hold the command or just build it up with
the CAT opcode. The CMD parameter can be up to 6000 in length, but as a
field in RPG/400 is limited to 256, you might be better off with that.
CMDLEN is always a 15,5 field, in which you put the actual length of the
command.
