I agree with that, but if I wanted to check for a time-out on a READ/WAIT situation, I could just check %STATUS regardless of whether or not I used READ(E). That's what I'm hearing you tell me. And that's good news. I don't know how many emails I get with people that don't use a %ERROR nest with nessted %STATUS and their %ERROR is always ZERO even when an error occurs... Because they forgot to code the un-intuitive (E) extender. So I can now just teach them to check for %STATUS values instead of (E) combined with %ERROR... Thanks Bob
